The zinc sulfide (Zas) used in solar cells has a band gap of 3.5 eV, and will absorb light having a wavelength shorter than 354 nm and light having a wavelength longer than 354 m. Therefore, all wavelengths of visible light are transparent, and colorless and transparent, so the Zns powder is white.
